And the winner is…
Image description: A still from our entry into The Drum Awards. A pink breakfast scene shows two square fried eggs popping out of a Klarna toaster. A phone shows a post from Klarna UK’s Instagram feed, a meme where bae invites you over ’cause their parents aren’t home… but they should be, we’re in lockdown!
It’s an honour just to be nominated. Really, it is!
But it’s pretty sweet to win, too, so we’re beyond delighted that Puzzle scooped “Best Use of Instagram” at The Drum Social Buzz Awards for our work with our partner, Klarna.
When the proverbial hits the fan, as it has for so many of us this year, it can be hard to know what to say… particularly as a brand, particularly where finance is concerned. So, how do you stay sensitive, stay fun, and not only grow your audience but turn them into a real, engaged community?
Mark Godfrey, Marketing Manager for Klarna UK put it best: “So proud of our small UK team and fabulous agency Puzzle for winning The Drum Award for Best Use of Instagram. The pandemic presents a challenge in consumer comms, not a reason to hide. ”
We think we got the formula just right with Lockdown Lessons, creating reasons for our community to come back every day and rewarding them when they did. Whether we were supporting our customers with responsible finance messaging or making them laugh with a meme, we remained present and it paid off. We’re always proud of our hardworking and creative team, but never more so than during such a bizarre and difficult time. Maybe we’re biased – but we think it’s a win well deserved.
